What SkinPen treats, and what to expect

Four things SkinPen does particularly well

3. Fine lines and wrinkles — softening skin surface lines by rebuilding the skin’s own structural support through impressive collagen boosting. This includes the mouth, the neck, and the under-eye area and lids, which many devices cannot safely treat. It can also be used on the chest, the hands and larger areas of the body

4. Skin tone and radiance — evidenced to improve uneven skin tone and actively treat hyperpigmentation and sunspots, by helping to repair damaged skin cells

Adding PRF

PRF — platelet-rich fibrin, sometimes called the vampire facial — takes a small sample of your own blood and separates out the portion rich in natural growth factors. We apply it topically immediately after your microneedling, while the microchannels are still open, so it absorbs into the deeper layers rather than sitting on the surface.

The result is a powerful regenerative combination: your own growth factors, delivered at the moment your skin is most receptive to them. It is our most elite skin-health pairing.

On the day. Topical numbing cream is applied first, and most patients find the treatment very comfortable. You will leave with some redness, rather like mild sunburn, which has usually settled by the following day.

Aftercare. You will be sent home with SkinPen branded aftercare skincare, included as part of your treatment. Please avoid sun exposure afterwards, and stop retinol for three days before and three days after each session.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients have a course, because the collagen response builds cumulatively — the research showing the biggest gains is based on four sessions spaced around a month apart. That said, results from a single treatment are still meaningful, and we will build a plan around your skin and your timeframe at consultation.

Does it hurt?

Topical numbing cream is applied before we begin and most patients are surprised how comfortable it is. There is no heat and there are no chemicals involved, which is part of why it is so well tolerated.

What is the downtime?

Minimal. Expect redness for the rest of the day, similar to mild sunburn, which has normally settled by the next morning. You will need to avoid sun exposure and pause retinol for three days either side.

Is it safe for the under-eye area?

Yes, in trained hands — and it is one of the areas where SkinPen really earns its place, since the skin around the eyes and on the lids is notoriously difficult to treat. It is also safe for the neck, chest and hands.

Do you have any spread the cost payment plans?
